Acidified CuSO fact sheetAcidified CuSO - Using acidified copper sulfate once or twice a week as a foot bath improves general hoof health. Acidified copper sulfate creates an environment which discourages the growth of bacteria and fungi.
Both the low PH (which ionizes copper) and the fine particle size, ensures high solubility, especially with hard water sources. Acidified copper sulfate foot baths do not pose a risk of residual milk contamination and the noncaustic acidifier does not irritate the skin. The copper base for Nutritech’s acidified copper sulfate is sourced from Teck Cominco, operator of one of the world’s largest copper operations at Highland Valley, British Columbia, mining 400,000 tonnes of copper concentrates per year. Teck Cominco has been a pioneer in mining and metal production for close to 100 years.
